Implementing Telephony over IP in your enterprise

Description

It’s a well known fact; the telecommunication environment is continuously evolving. One of the most exciting areas is ToIP. For more than five years, this technology has been making significant market penetration. By allowing the integration of voice on your data network, ToIP will probably impact all your IT management processes and network operation.

This course will allow you to understand the way voice is transported in an IP network and help you identify the various technical, economical and management issues to consider when implementing a ToIP network.

Prerequisites:

« IP; process and services » or equivalent as well as basic knowledge of voice networks.

Target audience:

Network administrators and technicians as well as users support groups who will have to implement and maintain an IP network integrating voice applications.

Learning objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

1. Integrate components and protocols related to ToIP over an existing IP network;
2. Identify parameters impacting voice quality in an IP network;
3. Troubleshoot potential causes of problems in a ToIP network.

- H.323; RAS H225 and H245
- SIP et SDP
- Interconnection with traditional voice networks
o Gateway
- Interconnection between ITADs
o ENUM and SRV RR
DAY 2 AM
Transmission process of a voice signal over an IP network:
- Fragmentation and voice compression
- RTP and RTCP
- IP networks performance
- Clipping, delay and echo
- Implementing QoS

DAY 2 PM
- Network dimensioning
- Traffic shaping
- Priority mechanisms
- Reliability and security issues
